The Southern Hemisphere will be seeing a total solar eclipse on Sunday the 11 July 2010. The Moon's shadow will darken skies over the Cook Islands, Easter Island and part of Argentina and Southern Chile. The Eastern Islands so far is forecast to have the biggest influx of visitors just for the eclipse. They are expecting about 4 000 tourist. This is a lot for a Island that is only 63.1 square miles and has a population of 4 781 people. Easter Island only receives one plane a day and on that Sunday there will be four flights to and from the Mataveri airport the rest is coming by boat. They really need the Tourism as that is the main income for the people living on this small remote Island.
